በJhpiego ድጋፍ ለስምንት የምርምር ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች በሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በሕክምና እና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ አውደ ርዕይ ተዘጋጅቷል፡፡ ግንቦት 6 እና 7 ቀን 2013 ዓ.ም በተካሄደው አውደ ርዕይ ከዩኒቨርሲቲዎች ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጆች፣ የአጋር ተቋማት ተወካዮች፣ የሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ሕክምና እና ጤና ሳይንስ ኮሌጅ መምህራን እና የአስተዳደር ሰራተኞች ተሳታፊ ሆነዋል።

Hawassa University has organized a Contemporary Conference with the theme of "The Role of Stakeholders for Democratic and Peaceful Election concerning the 6th National Election of Ethiopia''.

During the opening speech on 7^th May 2021 at the main campus, Hawassa University President Dr. Ayano Berasso said that the new national science policy and strategy of the country had clearly shown the importance of conducting scientific knowledge production at higher education institutions, among others, and developing science culture.
