Hawassa University, NUIST ink MoU for Collaboration.
Hawassa University has signed a memorandum of Understanding for collaboration with Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST), China, on November 14, 2024 at the Adwa Memorial Museum, Addis Ababa.
Hawassa University's Interim President Dr. Chirotaw Ayele and CHEN Haishan, President of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, signed the agreement at the China- Africa Vocational Education Cooperation and Exchange Conference organized by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, and hosted by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skills, and Department of Higher Education and Training of South Africa.
The signing of MoU between the two universities is believed to be a starting point for Cooperation for Win-Win Results with an opportunity to contribute more wisdom and strength towards the modernization of China and Africa through nnurturing skilled talents and diversified exchanges in the words of the Jiangsu province's governor.
Being one of the pioneering universities to run academic and research programs in forestry and natural resources management, Hawassa University is the right place to collaborate with NUIST on establishing joint academic and research programs related to climate change and building resilient environment.
