Denmark Embassy delegates discuss Collaboration with Hawassa University.

Delegates of Denmark embassy in Ethiopia have visited Hawassa University to discuss a collaborative project on water resource management on Oct 17, 2024.

Dr. Tafesse Mateos, V/President for research and technology transfer of HU, welcomed the guests in his office and presented a highlight of HU and its capacities regarding the experience of managing several collaborative projects with international partners. He also explained why it's very important for HU to collaborate with Danish universities among which are their excellence in the area of water resources engineering and HU's great potential in the same area with very efficient professors and good infrastructure. With the shared project, Dr. Tafesse stated, we can highly contribute towards Ethiopia's national aspiration to be a beacon of prosperity by 2030. He expressed the university management's high commitment to assist in the process of making the collaboration project a success story like others before.

Mr. Henrik Hagen, Water sector counselor at Denmark Embassy in Ethiopia, on his part appreciated what they have observed and the need to establish the project governance with clarity and transparency which is as essential as the other elements of the project.

The coordinator and participants in the prospectus collaboration project have mentioned their views on what should be done at inception stage before launching the activities planned in the project proposal.
