Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Ethiopia, H.E. Mr. Chen Hai, delegates and Chinese Medical team visited the HU Comprehensive Specialized Referral Hospital at the College of Medicine & Health Sciences on Nov. 22,2024.

Dr. Tafesse Matewos, V/President for research and Partnership at HU, officially welcomed the guests where he remarked that Ethiopia and China have historic and well established relationship developed in strategic partnership to work very closely in various areas of mutual interest. He also mentioned the longstanding partnership between Hawassa university and the PRC embassy in Addis Ababa that resulted in opening a Confucius classroom and train students in BA degree in Chinese language and literature. Dr. Tafesse heartily appreciated the material support for the hospital and the free medical service for the community offered by the delegation as very relevant and a way of strengthening the Ethio-Chinese relationship at large.

H. E. Ambassador Chen Hai also pledged his government's willingness to work closely and cooperatively with the Ethiopian government and Hawassa university, and he donated medical equipments to the hospital.
