College of Education Conducts Annual Research Review Workshop.

College of Education, Hawassa University, has conducted an annual research review workshop at  the main campus  PhD students' meeting hall on March 14, 2024.

Dr. Rahmeto Abebe, Research Programs Director at HU said in his oppening speech that the aim of the workshop is to identify the  challenges, opportunities and threats in conducting researches and recommend viable solutions to the identified problems. He said that the platform is also an experience sharing opportunity for early career researchers as it's obligatory for all academics to publish at least an article per year. Dr. Rahmeto remarked that more than 750 articles were pubilished by HU scholars on international journals which is a remarkable boost to institutional reputation of Hawassa University.

Dr. Samuel Assefa, Dean of the College of Education, on his part, pointed out that the college is thrieving to upgrade its own research journal in Scopus index in the near future. Dr. Samuel also reminded the participants about the upcoming big event of the year at college which will take place after few weeks in April where researchers will have bigger exposure to peer reviews and research experience sharing opportunity.

A total of seven disciplinary research papers were presented in the session and scholarly discussions and questions were raised by participants. Finally, Dr. Ashebir Bezabih, Associate Dean for RTT at CoE officially closed the event where he thanked everyone involved in the event and promised to provide official support and supervision for effective research undertakings of the college for the future.
