CNCS, IRAAD host Public Lecture

 

CNCS in collaboration with IRAAD host Public Lecture on Space Exploration.

College of Natural and Computational Sciences in collaboration with International and Alumni Affairs Directorate of Hawassa University host a public lecture by Tilaye A. Tadesse (Dr. rer. nat.), who is a former HU Staff and now a Senior Research Engineer at NASA Johnson Space Center, USA.

Dr. Zufan Bedewi, Dean of CNCS at HU, welcomed Dr. Tilaye and explained the purpose of the public lecture as to sharing well lived experiences to the scientific community of Hawassa university by a former colleague who has worked his way to great achievements in his field.
Mr. Yohanan Yokamo, Director of IRAAD, also forwarded his gratitude to the guest speaker for choosing HU to delivere such an inspiring public lecture. He added that it’s inspiring to see the former Hawassa University staff who is now working in a prominent international Space organization, NASA, and come back to share his scientific experiences at his old home.

In his lectures, Dr. Tilaye explained the benefits of space explorations and the technology shared from NASA to the world. He underlined in his lecture that human space exploration is not an option and man has always aspired to explore the unexplored, and to understand what is not understood. Attendants of the public lecture had finally raised different scientific questions on the topic where the speaker elaborated on most of them at the African Union Hall, main campus.
