Dr. Debrework Debebe, Dean, College of Law and Governance, stated that the objective of the event is to create the opportunity for students to make a theoretical study practical, to introduce the real situation of the court, to develop experience among students, and to strengthen institutional collaboration with different organizations including International Labour Organization. According to him, the college has done research-based tricks, capacity building training for staff, students, industrial park workers, and local communities with ILO, so today's competition is also part of the collaboration.
Dr. Eng. Fisseha Getachew, HU Vice President for Academic Affair, forwarded that this kind of competition is one of the great teaching innovations of the law school across the world, and competing in moot court competitions provides an opportunity to build advocacy skills, sharpen public speaking skills, and encourage to engage in legal analysis in a variety of areas of law.
He added that producing competent graduates for the country is meaningful and expected from our university. Obviously, it requires a lot of resources and tireless efforts. We, as a university, will also do our best by re-mobilizing and investing our meager resources into the aspired human resource development endeavor to realize our vision accordingly.
The event took place at Hawassa University on the 11th of June 2022.
