Hawassa University as one of the top-ranking research universities in Ethiopia is committed to conducting problem-solving researches and giving community services on different fields and programs. Crucially, Hawassa University has been implementing different projects to minimize sediment flow into Hawassa Lake in three sub-catchments. The projects are being implemented in Edo, Shala, and Boricha sub-catchments.

Hawassa University is really scoring very noticeable achievements in teaching-learning, research and community service from time to time. In fact, the results of the research that HU has conducted so far enable our institution to generate more essential scientific solutions which have huge potential to transform our society. HU actually believes that scientific approach is always needed for a better life. To this end, Hawassa University will keep improving the standard of research, the production and dissemination of knowledge and delivery of community service.
