H.E. Robert Shetkintong, the current ambassador of Indian in Ethiopia and the AU paid an official visit to HU today. Accompanied by Shri Gurbachan Singh, Second Secretary for

Political, Commerce and AU, the official visit was intended to discuss potential areas for collaboration and partnership between Indian universities, research and funding institutions and HU.

Dr. Ayano Berasso, President of HU, opened the meeting with a remark that Indian and Ethiopia have established an age-old historic relationship in different realms including education. Besides, Dr. Ayano Berasso expressed his heartfelt appreciation to H.E. Robert Shetkintong, the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of HU, Dr. Siva Kumar, Dr. Karunakaran and other participants for their initiative and arranging the official meeting in a short space of time.

In the discussion that followed ICT, scholarship opportunities, and cultural exchange were identified for further collaboration by participants of the meeting in order to strengthen the existing relationship between Indian universities, research and funding institutions and HU with the active support of the embassy in Addis Ababa.

The official visit of H.E. Robert Shetkintong was concluded by a group photograph ceremony outside the administrative building of HU.
