National Digital Multimedia Studio Inauguration, March 4, 2024.

The e-learning Studios equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities have been nationally inaugurated on March 4, 2024.

As part of the ongoing e-Learning for Strengthening Higher Education (e-SHE) project, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Educatio, Arizona State University and Ethiopian public universities, cutting-edge Multimedia Studios established in the five Ethiopian universities have been nationally inaugurated in the presence of higher officials from all partners.

Hawassa University Presidents Dr. Ayano Beraso and other officials visited the studio at HU before the inauguration to review the progress.

This development within Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Hawassa, Bahir Dar and Jimma Universities is believed by all partners to contribute greatly to the quality, accessibility, and relevance of higher education in Ethiopia at large.

Dr. Ing. Fisiha Getachew, Vice President for Academic Affairs at HU, expressed his hearty gratitude for all parties who contributed to the successful completion of the studio at HU during the inauguration.

The e-SHE project is aimed at fostering innovation, creativity, and collaboration among our academic communities. These advanced studios also serve as dynamic hubs for producing high-quality educational content to supplement the face-to-face education with online digital approach.

The officials from Minstry of Education, Arizona State University and the five Ethiopian universities underscored in their inauguration speeches that this achievement is a stepping stone for digitalization, inclusiveness and accessibility of higher education in Ethiopia with huge positive impact on teaching and learning, and the collaborative opportunities they present for the academic communities.
