Hawassa University School of Law wins the national oral rounds of Jessup Moot Court Competition.
The exceptionally outstanding team of Hawassa University School of Law has won the national oral rounds of the prestigious Jessup Moot Court Competition against teams from Addis Ababa and Haramaya Universities with the highest score of 1,114 out of 1,200.
Mr. Befekadu Dereba, the coach, said that the result is an implication that if opportunities are given to us we can be on the top of any team in the moot court competition. He added that the comments from judges show how impressive feat marks a historic milestone for his team, showcasing the depth of legal talent and unwavering passion within the school and he is incredibly proud of his team as a coach.
Mr. Befekadu said in his statement that their tireless efforts, meticulous preparation, and unwavering dedication have culminated in this well-deserved victory. "Watching them excel on the national stage was a truly inspirational experience and this victory represents a significant step forward for Hawassa University School of Law in the esteemed global arena. We are confident that our team will continue to shine on the national and international stages", he added. The coach has also thanked Mr. Behailu Eshetu (the school head), Dr. Debrework Debebe (Dean of the College of Law and Governance) and Mr. Fikre Tinsae (for co-coaching the students) for their support to the team, underscoring the need for better attention and support from the management for the future.
