Welcome to the College of Natural and Computational Sciences, Hawassa University.
The College of Natural and Computational Sciences was established by the name of faculty of natural Science in 2001. At the establishment, the faculty had only five departments (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Statistics) all of them offering undergraduate programs in Applied Sciences.
Graduallythe College had been transformed over the yearsand have launched postgraduate programs in 2008. Applied Biology, Applied Chemistry and Applied Statistics departments were the pioneers. The postgraduate programs were further expanded in departments like Physics and need based new curricula were developed and approved at University level. The former Faculty of Natural Sciences was reorganized and upgraded to College of Natural and Computational Sciences (CNCS) since June 2011.
Currently, CNCS has one Faculty and ten Departments and three Centers. These includes:faculty of veterinary, department of Biology, department of Chemistry, department of Physics, department of Mathematics, department of Sport sciences, department of Statistics, department of Geology, department of Biotechnology, department of Aquatic sciences, fisheries and aquaculture,Center for Aquaculture, Research &Education, Center for veterinary clinic and Center for Botanical Garden.
